Personal Project Sparks
|
In these sparks we share some areas where we have let our imagination, inspiration, and interests run wild. Creativity is one way to continue growing on a daily basis. To stretch our minds and imaginations and draw a picture or write a story. To let our spirit and inspiration soar and write a song or play an instrument. |
| To pursue our interests and continue to expand our knowledge and our skills. This in the end, is perhaps the place where we grow the most. We hope these music, artwork and craftsmanship sparks will spur you on to creating something of your own. |

| Temple Service Sessions with Worship Leader Tony Hooper This project was recorded while Kevin and I were attending Brownsville Ministry Training Center in Pensacola, FL. A group of us would get together each week to minister to God and these songs were birthed out of that time. I was able to sing with the choir on each song, and Kevin helped with the recording end. It was a great experience and I am blessed every time I listen to the CD. I was also honored with the privilege of designing the CD cover and artwork. ~ Patience |

Danielle Constance Photography I love photography and I do it because I enjoy it. Just a bunch of pictures I take that intrigue me, make me think, inspire me, or that I think other people might enjoy viewing. Photography is a passion for me; it's something I want to do for the rest of my life. I want to be able to go to college and major in it. Until then, I'm still learning and I just live my life, one picture at a time. I hope you enjoy this sampling of my work! ~ Danielle ~ Click on a picture to visit that album ~ |

Drawing and Painting
All of our kids have done quite a bit of drawing and painting and I'll be adding more pictures as we go, but Rebekah seems to draw the most. I remember a couple of years ago in the spring, we had a tree right outside our kitchen window. One day, the girls and I watched in horror as a snake ate three baby robins alive, while the mother and father robin continually pecked away at the snake. About 20 minutes later, Rebekah brought me her drawing of what had just happened. I was amazed at her creativity and detail and to this day, God speaks to me quite often through Rebekah's drawing. I hope you enjoy this sampling of drawing and painting from the Constance family. Just click on the picture below to launch the photo album. **New drawings added September 2010**

Victoria loves people so they end up being the subjects of most of her drawings. Here is a sampling of her work so far.

~ "State Flags and Flowers" by Rebekah ~
She started with Florida and Colorado, just drawing the flags.
Then she developed a template to include the flag, flower and
fact about the flower on one page. I thought it was a
great idea and wanted to share it with you.

Dragon's Dawn Armory Growing up, I can't recall wanting to be a firefighter, or a policeman, or any such thing, like all the other kids. I wanted to be an armored knight. What little boy didn't, at one time or another? So, I've always liked arms, armor, and all that is included with them. |
| door pipe, flattened through hours of hard work. After that, I kept working on small things, like jewelry, until I found out about an organization known as the S.C.A. After much reading about it, I decided that I was going to build a full suit of armor, a suit that would stand up in a fight. Thus, did I get into the art of armoring. Established by Alex Constance, in July of 2005, Dragon's Dawn Armory does a variety of work, mostly armor and weapons, but also jewelry and furnishings, like hinges, latches, and such. Among the creations put out by the armory are Japanese style weapons, Medieval European style armor, original design knives, and ring maile. Also made are leather and cloth items, such as medeval period clothing, sword sheaths, and blankets. ~ Alex |

| Konstanz Guitars by Alex Constance I've played guitar for about 10 1/2 years now. I started at 8, with a Mel Bay book and an old 3/4 sized acoustic guitar. This is where my love of guitar and musical instruments in general began. Six years later, I decided to |
|
| try building an electric guitar. My first attempt was an utter failure, mostly because I lacked parts and a more than basic knowledge of how to go about building an instrument. My second attempt came out MUCH better, and the result is still my main instrument, and has been used in multiple recordings. Since then, I have been building instruments whenever I get an idea and have the parts to do it. Recent successes include a tinwhistle, harp prototype, and a solidbody mandolin. ~ Alex |

My ceramics class was definitely the funnest class I took that wasn’t about photography (I know, funnest isn’t a word, but I think it’s nifty). It was hard at first, learning to center the clay on the wheel, bringing up the walls without making them too thin, but by the end I’d gotten the hang of it pretty well.
My favorite pieces to throw were the bowls, and it just so happens that my favorite piece is a bowl. The hand-built pieces took a long time to make and were pretty tedious. It was nice, though, when I just wanted to sit and calm down for a while.
After having taken the class and seeing what I can do with it, I’d definitely like to take another class, hopefully even this upcoming Fall semester.

| Carving by Kevin Kevin carved this about 20 years ago and it still sits on my antique vanity to this day. Pictures don't do it justice. He made it from one piece of wood, stained it and finished it with polyurethane. He hand-painted the "I Love You" in white, shadowing it in red. This is just a small representation of the amazing woodworking he's done over the years. He is definitely a craftsman of excellence. ~ Patience |
